Gratitude Calligraphic Word Study | gold foil letterpress
Master Penman Jake Weidmann flourishes his latest word study bringing his signature old-world romance to an emotion that captures the holiday season and beyond: Gratitude. For the Christian, this word is a way of life and the very keys to the kingdom as praise and thanksgiving open the doors of heaven. "Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name" (Psalm 100:4). The root word of gratitude is the Latin word "gratus" which means "thankful" or "pleasing" and goes a step further to mean "celebrate" and "praise."
A Hebrew word for gratitude is hakarat ha'tov, which literally translates to: "recognizing the good." This term itself is a spiritual discipline as we train the eyes of our heart to "find the Good." Jesus told his disciples, "The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light" (Matthew 6:22).
The gold foil flourishes illuminate the word "Gratitude," filling the page with the light of heaven.
