Though many people and organizations have put their hands to its parts over the years, it is known that a single artist has not illuminated entirety the Bible for over 400 years. Until now. This title page image is the beginning of Weidmann's upcoming Books of the Bible series in which he will illuminate the title pages for the 66 books. We believe this collaboration of the Word and Jake Weidmann has been ordained for such a time as this.
All orders include an 8" x 10" backstory of the piece.

The hummingbird is romanticized in this dynamic design as it pays tribute to the vintage technique of calligraphic off-hand flourishing. Like the hummingbird, the power of the message is in its details. The entanglement of line work speaks to the essence of love in combining two separate bodies, male and female, as a unified whole. Small imperfections grafted into the symmetry establish its own perfection.

Following showmanship of past master penman, Weidmann takes the traditional calligraphic bird flourish to new heights in his hyper-realism style. This aerial North American Nuthatch soars toward the viewer with boundless ethereal motion through the vintage expression of off-hand flourishing.
In Deuteronomy (4:24), God describes himself as a Consuming Fire- a jealous God who pursues his people despite their constant rebellion against Him. God our Father is the light in the darkness; a fire burning bright who yearns for a relationship with His creation. He looks away from the viewer to show God’s inability to truly commune with His people in the Old Testament because they were cloaked in sin.
